your weekly salon mix from thom.

This week’s thom. salon mix is another musical journey, connecting the dots between jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, boogie, disco, house, and worldly grooves. Opening the show we have some nice live offerings/modern takes on cult classics courtesy of Sly5thAve and Anderson Paak. Feel good hip-hop vibes by one of our faves, Phonte; a beautiful remix of Aaliyah from another fave of ours, Freddie Joachim. Another artist you hear a lot of in the salon, DJ MItsu the Beats makes an appearance, followed by a couple of other faves of ours, Andrew Ashong and DJ Day.

"...uptempo jazzy numbers are next on the musical menu, featuring sonically sculpted dishes from the likes of K15, Dusty, Kyodai, Marion Poncet, Meowsn’, Nautiluss, Flight Mode, Jimpster and more"

— Adam Petipas

Modern boogie/disco vibes from Lumberjacks in Hell bossman, Marcel Vogel, setting the tone for the likes of Hotmood, Chord Memory Band, Colm K., The Goods, and The Pendletons. Uptempo jazzy numbers are next on the musical menu, featuring sonically sculpted dishes from the likes of K15, Dusty, Kyodai, Marion Poncet, Meowsn’, Nautiluss, Flight Mode, Jimpster and more. Closing out the mix we have a lovely remix of Jose James by an all-time favorite, Moodymann, setting the stage for modern jazz connoisseurs, Moses Boyd, Kamaal Williams, and Abstract Orchestra. From here we slow it down with some soulful, feel-good vibes from Children Of Zeus, Lovebirds, Nightmares On Wax, Horatio Luna, Neue Grafik and more. Enjoy and check back next week!
